Helen Brown is our CEO and joined Visualise in May 2020. She is committed to the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in society. Helen is a registered social worker and has had 25 years experience in the third sector. She has worked in leadership positions with organisations such as the Red Cross, the Prince’s Trust, VSO, the French charity ‘HI’ and grassroots advocacy organisations. She currently chairs the Trustee board of ArtSquat – a Scottish arts charity.
Helen has worked in a number of different countries in health and education, including Afghanistan in physical rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics; in Rwanda with disabled people’s organisations; Mongolia, China, Bangladesh and Nepal on earthquake preparedness and response. Helen has a brother with severe disabilities and autism. She is particularly interested in family engagement and ensuring people we support are able to fulfil their potential. She has a focus on value and recognition of staff and loves working with a great team to build on the strengths of Visualise.
In her spare time Helen enjoys hiking with her partner David, painting, world cinema and also writes poetry, with two poems longlisted for the 2019 National Poetry Competition.
Pauline joined Visualise in August 2015. Pauline has over twenty years’ experience working in the care sector and prior to joining Visualise she worked as a manager with Leonard Cheshire Disability for over ten years.
Pauline has achieved SVQ Level 4 award in Leadership and Management and is the Registered Manager with the Scottish Social Services Council for all Visualise services.
Claire started working for Visualise in April 2016 and is team leader for one of our housing support services and our day services. She has almost 30 years’ experience in the care sector, starting out as a nursing auxiliary before moving into support work and from there into management. Claire really loves the happiness and fulfilment Visualise brings to the people we support; it’s easily her favourite thing about the job. In her free time, Claire teaches and practises martial arts, goes to the gym and swims.
Hannah joined Visualise in February 2017. Having worked abroad, this is Hannah’s first position in the third sector. Responsible for ensuring that Head Office runs smoothly as well as managing our social media and website, Hannah is the person you’re most likely to speak to at Norton Park.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys reading, cooking, and travelling as well as watching documentaries.
